I go through seasons with reading.
Sometimes I read constantly and move through several books in a week. Other times I read slowly, taking weeks to finish something. Some books I devour in a single weekend. Others I carry around for a while before I’m ready to finish them. In fact, I have three books on my shelf right now that I've been "currently reading" for over three months.
I read in every format—print, ebook, and audiobook. I’m happy with all of them.
This blog is a place to keep track of what I read and what the experience of reading it was like.
These posts aren’t meant to be formal reviews. Instead, think of them as reading notes. After finishing a book, I’ll usually write a short reflection: what stood out, what lingered, what surprised me, or what the book made me think about while I was reading it.
I read almost everything. Literary fiction, genre fiction, memoir, essays, science, history. Some books will be thoughtful and challenging. Others will be what I like to call "candy bar books": quick, enjoyable reads that reset the brain between heavier ones.
Mostly, this is a record of one person's experience with a book, then another book, and then another.
